The Client

The CPD Standards Office ensures that the Continuous Professional Development training you do is to the standard it should be. They assess and accredit over 1000 training providers. CPD Accreditation is for those educators who strive to deliver world-class training and enhance their professional field.

The Challenge

A mixed Google/Microsoft IT environment made maintaining effective cyber security and having a business continuity plan they could trust difficult. Their previous MSP wasn’t providing them with the advice and the support they needed. Their Microsoft Secure Score was just 37.
CPD Standards Office faced increasing IT risk and operational friction at a senior leadership level:

  • IT issues all being escalated to the CEO, distracting from strategic priorities
  • Support wasn’t aligned to their distributed workforce, impacting productivity and costs
  • Infrastructure decisions were delayed as they always felt like high risks

Our Solution

Even though many of the senior team were “pro Google”, we demonstrated that a purely Microsoft network would provide a much more secure environment.
With Systems IT as a strategic partner, the organisation moved from reactive IT management to confident operational control:

  • Clear ownership and senior accountability. Systems IT took responsibility for the environment end to end, removing ambiguity and reducing executive escalation.
  • Support model aligned to how the business works. Practical changes improved accessibility for overseas staff, encouraging earlier engagement with support and reducing disruption.
  • Microsoft 365 re-aligned to the business. Configuration, permissions, and workflows were corrected to match real world usage, restoring staff confidence and improving adoption of Intune. Furthermore, Conditional Access and Geo Policies have increased security.
  • Security became visible and measurable. Secure Score more than doubled, controls aligned to compliance requirements, and Cyber Essentials progressed with clarity and structure.

Decisions backed by expert guidance. Infrastructure and technology choices were clearly explained, risks surfaced early, and leadership no longer had to arbitrate between suppliers or opinions.

The Result

With Systems IT as their strategic partner, they have moved from reactive IT management to confident operational control. This means not just better IT, but measurable business value.

  • Reduced executive time spent on IT issues
  • Improved staff confidence and productivity
  • Lower operational and security risk
  • A Microsoft environment aligned to growth, not resistance
  • A business continuity positions the organisation can genuinely trust

Productivity has increased significantly and their Secure Score increased from 37% to now well over 80% and their Tenant Alignment is nearly 90%.

“Moving to a fully Microsoft-based environment with the right strategic support has transformed both our security and our confidence as an organisation. Our Secure Score has more than doubled, our systems are now properly aligned, and we have a business continuity position we can genuinely trust. Just as importantly, the team took the time to guide us through the transition in a clear, pragmatic way. The result is a more secure, more productive organisation that is better prepared for future growth.”
